Moving to a paid subscription

So you’ve tried out SafeStack Academy and you want to move to a paid subscription. How exciting! In this guide we’ll walk you through the process of doing that.

When can I move to a paid subscription?

You can do this at any point during the 14 day trial period, or after your trial has finished. The process for each option differs, which we’ll explain further below.

Moving to a paid subscription during your free trial

The process for this is different depending on whether you want to pay by credit card or by invoice.

Paying monthly by credit card

If you’d like to pay by credit card, you can add your payment details through your SafeStack Academy account.

You’ll then be charged monthly for the number of seats you’ve subscribed to. Easy as pie, and flexible for when you want to add or remove seats.

Here’s how to do it.

  1. Log in to SafeStack Academy.
  2. Click on the “My Account” button in the top menu, then “Account”.



  3. Click on “My Subscription”



  4. Click the “Add Payment” button.



  5. This will take you to the “Add Payment Method” screen, where you can enter your credit card details.

Once added, you are all done. Easy as pie.

Paying annually by invoice

If you’d like to pay by invoice, contact us on support@safestack.io or speak to one of our team directly.

We invoice once per year for your total annual subscription, and you can pay by bank transaction or through PayPal.

If you change seats during the year, we’ll issue you with a credit or new invoice.

Moving to a paid subscription after your free trial finishes 

If you weren't quite ready to move to a paid subscription during your trial but you're ready now, read on. 

Once your trial finishes, your subscription goes on hold and you won’t have access to your courses.

Don't worry, though — your progress will be saved and you can pick up where you left off once you’ve completed the process below.

Here’s how to do it.

  1. Log in to SafeStack Academy.
  2. This will take you to the "My Courses" page, where you'll see that your courses aren't available right now. We'll get them back soon!

    Click on the "Upgrade Now" button in the top menu. If you can't see this button, you can visit this page directly at https://academy.safestack.io/my-account/subscriptions/

  3. This will take you to the “Subscriptions” page. Click the “View” button.

  4. On this page, the details in the “Subscription totals” section are based on the options you selected for your free trial. Once you’ve moved to a paid subscription, you can add or remove seats, so don’t worry if these details don’t match the settings you want for your paid subscription.

    Scroll down the page to the “Related orders” section and look for the row that has a status of “Pending payment”. Click on the “Pay” button.

  5. This will take you to the "Checkout" page. Complete your information in the “Billing  details” section, choose whether you want to pay by credit card or invoice, and click “Place order”.

    You can either pay monthly by credit card, or annually by invoice. We invoice once per year for your total annual subscription, and you can pay by bank transaction or through PayPal. If you change your number of seats during the year, we’ll issue you with a credit or a new invoice.

  6. After placing your order, you'll go to the “Order received” page. You’ll also get two emails from us: one saying your order is being processed and one confirming your order is complete.

    If you’re paying by invoice, you’ll see a note about your subscription being enabled upon receipt of payment. We’ll be in touch soon with an invoice, but your courses will be available to you in the meantime.

    If you’re happy with the number of seats in your subscription, click on “My Courses”.

    Your courses will now be available again, and you can carry on learning!
